Sphere Project

Case Study:

Islands of the Future

Location: Confidential Government Project, Middle East

Year: 2022-24

Role: Experience Designer & Wellness Strategist

Scope of Work: Experience Design, Wellness Program Development, Guest Engagement Strategies

Project Overview

Sphere was a confidential master planning and concept design commission for a series of islands envisioned as a new model for regenerative living, innovation, and tourism.

Each island embodied a distinct theme — from wellbeing and art to technology and ecological restoration — forming an interconnected ecosystem that bridges culture, sustainability, and human potential.

Approach

Strategic Visioning — collaborated with government planners and architects to define a visionary framework for sustainable development across multiple islands.

Island Typologies — created unique positioning and guest experience flows for wellness, art, innovation, and nature-focused islands — each with its own brand story and activation program.

Concept & Experience Design — developed immersive design narratives for each island, articulating its purpose, emotional identity, and spatial DNA.

Spatial Storytelling — translated narrative themes into spatial concepts, integrating sensory cues, rituals, and architectural symbolism to define emotional resonance within each environment.

Cultural & Environmental Research — analyzed local heritage, ecosystems, and visitor behavior to ensure that each concept honored regional identity while advancing global innovation.

Visual & Communication Framework — produced concept decks and presentation materials to communicate the vision across stakeholder teams and potential investors.

Outcome

  • Holistic Island Network — delivered an integrated concept connecting multiple islands through shared design language and sustainable infrastructure.

  • Distinct Brand Identities — articulated unique positioning, visual worlds, and emotional signatures for each island, allowing for phased development and targeted audience engagement.

  • Blueprint for Regenerative Tourism — established an adaptive model combining culture, ecology, and innovation to redefine luxury and sustainability in the region.

  • Government & Stakeholder Alignment — enabled decision-makers to visualize the potential impact of the project through narrative-driven decks and immersive concept renders.

  • Long-Term Development Pathway — created a scalable strategy and design framework adaptable for future expansion, partnerships, and architectural competitions.

  • Sustainability Integration — proposed circular design strategies including renewable energy systems, water conservation, local material sourcing, and low-impact mobility to ensure long-term resilience.
